From China...
On December 5th, the Cité de l’espace hosted a delegation from the Chinese space field led by Mr. Bian Zhigang, vice-administrator of the Chinese space agency, the CNSA. This visit was planned as part of a meeting organized by the CNES. Discussions dealt with French-Chinese collaboration and future moon and Mars exploration, in the presence of the heads of the IRAP. Participants were especially interested in the mediation resources proposed by the Cité de l’espace and they appreciated the creativity of the initiatives. Note that China is represented at the exhibitions featured at the Cité de l’espace with notably the Chang’e 4 model in the gardens and the Zhurong Mars rover in the facility, “les Rovers entrent en scene (Rovers take the stage)”.

… to Japan…
On December 18th, Professor Tsuneta, President of the Air and Space Museum of Kakamigahara (Japan) and former Executive Director of JAXA, the Japanese Space Agency, visited the Cité de l’espace with his team. The Cité de l’espace is one of two European sites to exhibit samples of the Ryugu asteroid, on loan from the JAXA. Another link between the two nations, the Kakamigahara Museum and L’Envol des Pionniers are the only venues in the world to have a Salmson 2A2 model (Otsu-1 in Japan), a plane used in 1919 to train Japanese pilots thanks to French expertise.

…via Kenya !
On December 13, 2024, the Cité de l’espace hosted one phase of the Kenyan space delegation’s study visit to Toulouse coordinated by Aerospace Valley on behalf of Expertise France. Directed by Brig. Hillary Kipkosgey, CEO of the Kenya Space Agency, and composed of representatives from the Kenyan space agency, universities and startups, the delegation explored educational initiatives and innovations highlighted by the Cité de l’espace.
