The 2024 Awards ceremony of the Association des Amis de la Cité de l’espace

On December 9th, the Association des Amis de la Cité de l’espace (AACE) held its annual awards ceremony attended by an audience of 160 people. The Georges Estibal Grand Prize was awarded to François Forget, a renowned Astro physician, in honour of his career achievements. Mr. Forget gave a fascinating talk for the conclusion of this year’s awards ceremony. The “Prix des Amis” or Friends’ Prize honoured the commitment and achievement of two people: Emilie Teyssedre for his engagement as Deputy Director of the ISAE SUPAERO OSE ”Student Social Outreach” program, and Guy Lachaud, for his contributions to raising awareness about scientific culture, notably in meteorology. A Special Prize was awarded to Jean Baptiste Desbois, former Managing Director of the Semeccel, to honour his 13 years of dedicated service to the development and promotion of the Cité de l’espace. Following Thomas Pesquet, the last winner of this award, Jean- Baptiste Desbois has played a key role in strengthening ties between the Cité de l’espace and the AACE.
