On Tuesday June 15th, the Cité de l’espace had the pleasure of hosting an evening organized by Friends of the Cité de l’espace (AACE). The association, which was not able to organize its Grand Prize 2020 owing to the sanitary crisis last December, was finally able to do so on the occasion of this evening. The  Grand Prize was awarded by Gil Denis, president of AACE, to the physicist and astronaut, Jean-Jacques Favier, for his career in research, space, and teaching. The Youth Prize was awarded by Jérémie Lassue, astrophysicist at IRAP, for the Tetr’ISS project, run by students and advisors of the IUT of l’Université Toulouse 3 – and coordinated by Philippe Garnier (lecturer, IRAP/Université Toulouse 3). This project, winner of the Génération ISS contest, started in 2019 by CNES, the minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and the astronaut, Thomas Pesquet, consists in the design and manufacture of an automated platform bringing together four scientific and educational experiments. The platform was taken on board the International Space Station (ISS) and is deployed by Thomas Pesquet. The awards ceremony was followed by a conference by Jean-Jacques Favier, We will walk again on the Moon.
