In spite of its closure, the Cité de l’espace has continued its mediation mission to reach the general public. In particular it has developed opportunities to welcome different media organizations at the main space events in order to broadcast news to the widest public. For example, France Info relocated its branch to the site on two occasions: first on February 18, for the landing of the Perseverance rover on Mars (Mission Mars 2020) and secondly for takeoff on April 23rd of the Alpha Mission in which the French ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut, Thomas Pesquet participated. Many media organizations from the press, radio and television networks solicited the expertise of the Cité de l‘espace for these two important events.
