On Tuesday, September 10th, the CNES and the Occitanie Pyrénées – Méditerranée Region took advantage of the symbolic setting of the Cité de l’espace, where the 7th edition of La Tribune Space Forum was taking place, to formally sign their partnership agreement for the period 2024-27. For Carole Delga, President of the Occitanie Pyrénées - Méditerranée Region, and Philippe Baptiste, chairman and CEO of the CNES, the objective is to consolidate the cooperation initiated in 2019 which aims to strengthen Occitanie’s leadership position in the European space sector. It should be noted that this region accounts for two thirds of space jobs in France and one third in Europe. The purpose of this new partnership is to support local companies in their efforts to achieve greater industrial excellence, support innovation and technological advances, and to expand the skills needed to meet the sector’s current and future challenges. A communication campaign is also planned including the creation in Toulouse of an international aerospace convention which will alternate with the Paris space show.
