In May, Europe was honoured at both Semeccel sites in celebration of Europe Week organized on May 9th to 31st by Toulouse Métropole. On May 11th, the Cité de l’espace hosted « a citizen dialogue” organized by the European Commission Delegation in France in cooperation with Toulouse Métropole and La Maison de l’Europe-Europe Direct Toulouse Occitanie. It was an opportunity to exchange ideas about Europe, the role of the Union in the daily life of young people and European opportunities for youth, in particular concerning mobility, with Valérie Drezet-Humez, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission in France, Jean-Claude Dardelet, Vice-President of Toulouse Métropole, Deputy Mayor of the City of Toulouse, President of the Semeccel, Nadia Pellefigue, Vice-President of the Occitanie Region, Philippe Perrin, astronaut and Geneviève Saint Hubert, Secretary General of la Maison de l’Europe Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées, among others. Throughout the event, visitors of the Cité de l’espace were given a flyer with a treasure hunt to find elements related to Europe on the site. Finally on May 25th and 26th, nearly 500 pupils from the Academy of Toulouse visited L’Envol des Pionniers and participated in educational activities as well as shows about Europe. The event was organized by Toulouse Métropole and les Francas Occitanie in partnership with L’Envol des Pionniers and La Halle de la Machine.
